    GLORIOUS YEARS

    The clock chimes the signal for returning home,
    It brings to his life a note of sigh!
    The meaning given him thru his dark skin
    Is devotion of his whole life to a struggle of skin colors.

    The years have changed possession into loss.
    The weary eyes are showing expectation.

    Today only the injured body still remains
    To welcome the glorious years
    To hold tight to freedom amidst wind and rain.
    Thru faltering struggle in this life,
    He believes he can change the future.
    May I ask who else can accomplish this?

    Could we make no distinction of skin colors?
    Wish everyone could share everything and be treated equally in this land!
    A profuse variety of colors emits a sparkling beauty
    Because it makes no distinction of each color.

    It’s been a while since listen to a Chinese song, and was looking for my old time favourite.
    While listen to it a work colleague asked what the song was about.
    Unfortunately my Chinese is not great enough to decipher the lyrics… and didn’t have much hope Google’ing it but then stubbled across this page.

    Brother you have NO IDEA how this song touched my heart. I am a South African (“a profuse variety of colors…”) of mixed descent teaching your beautiful children in China and one of my students told me about this song and he said it is about Mandela (Madiba as we call him back home) wrote the title down for me. I checked it out on bing tonight and found your translation and when I read the English translation I wanted to cry and dance at the same time, because this song is what Mandela was and what he taught us to try to be. The fact that these words we created and sung by a Chinese group made my heart beat so WARMLY, because for the first time I felt as if SOMEONE in China understands me. May the Divinity shine his/her light over you and may you have many “Glorious Days” ahead of you! Xie Xie ni!!!

    When i was googling about Mandela, it linked me to “Mandela Effect”
    They says Mandela actually died earlier in prison but history changed because of Mandela Effect. I was wow! is it real??

    Here’s a version where English speaker can sing along, not the best rhyme or translate, but it fits the song somewhat
